I: No Declaration of War without consultation.

No declaration of War without public consultation. We believe that this country should never again go to war, as in Iraq, without a referendum or proper consultation with our representatives.

How are you going to define "war"? How are all the relevant issues ever going to be exposed for debate without massive risks to national security. This is a topic that should be quietly parked.

This thinking shows a lack of appreciation of the realities of the world.
Often there is little time to react when you are threatened, either individually or collectively as a nation. So one of the trusts we put in our elected representatives (please note I did not use "politicians!), is that they will react to such situations in the best interests of the country.

That doesn't always work, we know this. We have often gone to war for the wrong reasons (Iraq is a good example), but we have also warred for the right reasons (World War 2, Falklands for example). But we have to trust our elected representative to act when needed. If we go for a referendum to decide every time, given the timescale that will inevitably result, we could find ourselves attacked or even subdued before we get a chance to vote.

Keep up the good work and debate, as reform is vital if we are to survive as the honest, caring country which I had the privilege to serve as a member of her armed forces.

Hear, hear !! Our meddling in recent years has not increased our security - it has made us a target. And we have meddled without either a clear end game or a good understanding of the communities that we are meddling with. Think of Cameron's peremptory support of rebels in Syria, rebels who have morphed into IS....ooh, the irony!! Iraq, Libya, Syria..... not our greatest moments.
